Dear Members and Friends,
Happy New Year! As we welcome 2025, I extend my warmest wishes to each of you for a year filled with health, happiness, and success. It is a tremendous honor to serve as the President of the World Spinal Column Society (WSCS), an organization deeply committed to advancing spine education and improving the care of spine patients worldwide.
Our society's strength lies in its members, whose diverse experiences and expertise inspire innovation and elevate the standard of care for patients globally. In 2025, we aim to foster collaboration, expand our reach, and create opportunities that enable each of you to grow and contribute to our shared mission.
Here are some exciting plans for the year ahead:
Continuation of Spine Boards
The highly successful Spine Boards initiative will continue in 2025. This impactful resource will be available exclusively to members. If you haven’t already, renew your membership to ensure uninterrupted access to this valuable tool.
Key Educational Courses
We are thrilled to announce several upcoming courses, including a major event in Johannesburg towards the end of the year. Additional courses are also being planned to ensure members have access to diverse learning opportunities throughout 2024.
Expansion of Membership Base
One of our top priorities this year is to expand our membership globally. As a first step towards this goal, we plan to establish continental representatives who will help strengthen the society's presence in their regions.
World Spine 11 in Frankfurt
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that World Spine 11 will be held in Frankfurt, Germany. This event will serve as a cornerstone for global collaboration and innovation in spine care.
Together, we can make 2025 a year of education, growth, and excellence. I thank you for your continued support and look forward to working with you to advance the mission of WSCS.

WHO WE ARE
The World Spinal Column Society’s mission is to advance spine care worldwide by connecting spine surgeons in advanced and emerging nations through high quality education, training and collaborative activities.
The founding Board Members of WScS have previously directed the World Spine Society, which was administered by NASS. As the World Spine Society’s activities have almost ceased, its leading surgeons have joined together to launch WScS, as an independent society. The WScS will not be administrated by NASS.
